Dr. D Sharp is a bandleader, music director, and message-driven artist whose music carries the sound of a continent into the spaces it reaches. With a sound drawn from Afrojazz, Afrobeat, Afrofusion, and hip-hop storytelling, and shaped by years of directing choirs and bands, he has won several music competitions and has performed and played with artists in Nigeria, across the East Coast, in Canada, and on the West Coast. He holds a doctorate and is a published thought leader in the creative industries, with activism at the core of his work, and he uses music to carry faith, Pan-African identity, and the realities of everyday life with vibe and energy. His live performance of "Animal Kingdom" reached millions of viewers in a single week. On stage, he brings a revolutionary jazz spirit to African music and gives it a new life, where the band is the performance as much as the voice. He arrives with his latest release, Dsharp Experience EP Vol. 2.
